Collections Specialist (Revenue & Retention)

We’re looking for a sharp, persistent, and customer-savvy Collections Specialist to own our end-to-end collections and recovery funnel.

What you'll do

You will operate at the intersection of Finance, Customer Success, and Growth, using WhatsApp, automation, and data to: - Recover failed payments - Prevent churn due to non-payment - Identify patterns and improve our billing/collections system

  • Own the collections pipeline (failed payments, overdue invoices, at-risk accounts)
  • Proactively reach out to customers via WhatsApp, email, and calls
  • Recover revenue by: Retrying payments Updating payment methods Negotiating short-term solutions
  • Use and improve automations (HubSpot, Stripe, workflows, bots) for collections
  • Tag and categorize churn/collection reasons (build feedback loop to product & growth)
  • Suggest and execute experiments to improve recovery rate (copy, timing, channels)
  • Maintain clean and structured data in CRM

What we're looking for

  • 1–3+ years in collections, customer support, or revenue operations
  • Experience working with: Stripe or billing tools (Mercadopago) & CRM (HubSpot preferred)
  • Comfortable using WhatsApp as a primary communication channel
  • Fluent in Spanish (Portuguese is a plus)
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills

What you'll bring

Hard Technical Skills

  • Experience managing accounts receivable and overdue payment follow-ups
  • Familiarity with billing platforms (Stripe, Mercadopago or similar) and payment recovery flows
  • Comfortable using CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) to track collections activity
  • Ability to manage high-volume messaging via WhatsApp and email
  • Strong use of spreadsheets (Google Sheets / Excel for tracking and reporting)

Soft Skills

  • Persistent and consistent in follow-ups (doesn’t drop conversations)
  • Clear and persuasive written communication (especially via WhatsApp)
  • Strong sense of ownership over revenue and outcomes
  • Problem-solving mindset (offers solutions, not just reminders)
  • Attention to detail in tracking payments, statuses, and commitments
  • Fast response time and sense of urgency
